Trips

Today Ms Stewart's Class went on a tour to Clondalkin Sports & leisure centre. There were lots of sports like: rock-climbing , absailing, orienteering, archery & swimming. It was great fun. 4th Class went to the aquatic centre in Blanchardstown followed by bowling and q-zar in Leisureplex. Everyone had a great time.

We have only one more full day in school as we are getting our summer holidays on Wednesday.

Sunday, June 27, 2010

There was a graduation ceremony on Friday at six o'clock for the sixth class pupils. Father Finbarr Nealon , a past-pupil of Joey's said mass in the school hall and afterwards there was speeches and refreshments. All the parents attended. There was a slide-show of photos of the boys in sixth class over the past five years. It is sad to say goodbye to a brilliant little school. I hope secondary school will be as good.

News

Friday was the awarding of certificates to winners of D.F.L (Discipline for learning) in Joey's school hall. There were bronze, silver, gold and platinum awards. The parents were invited to attend. Each student that had enough 'stamps' got a certificate and a gift-token. The platinum award winners also got a coveted Joey's watch.

Well done lads.

Farewell

It is with great sadness that I have to say that Mr. Caulfield is leaving Joey's.
Mr. Caulfield was involved in all aspects of the school.
From Groovy Blues to The Students Council & Blues news to Joey's Bloggers, he even managed to find time to teach! Everybody in the school liked him. So he will be greatly missed.
He is going to be a principal in another school. So our great loss is their gain.

Goodbye Mr. Caulfield, We will all miss you

There are lots of new slideshows in the Photos + Video Gallery section.
There are also, as mentioned in the last post, lots of slideshows on the Joey's Web!!

The Book Circle

I go to the Book Circle every Wednesday. Every week we get a different book (when we finish the first one)
Every book is brilliant. My favourite book was The Guns of Easter
I also liked: Private Peaceful, 17th Martin Street & Tom Crean: Ice-Man.
A few weeks ago, we went on a trip to Easons Bookstore, O'Connells Street, Dublin.
We all got to pick out a book. I picked Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief.
It is BRILLIANT!!! I am now on Percy Jackson & The Demigod Files.
At Christmas, we got a Ripleys Believe It Or Not Annual as a gift from the Book Circle
All together, I think the Book Circle is great!!!!
